There is not much difference between different Chinese credit cards and all the Chinese credit cards with “Visa” or “Master” on them can be used here. In addition, it might take 2 weeks to 1 month to apply for a Chinese credit card, so manage your time well! You can use your Chinese credit for most of your shopping, but for some on-line shop and travelling booking, a local bank credit card will be more convenient.
Soon after you arrive in America, you can apply for an American debit card. You can set a bank account in the Federal Credit Union, $50 deposit is necessary. With the account, you can withdraw cash at the bank counter, but if you want to shop on line or withdraw cash through ATM machine, you need to apply for a debit card. $0.50 monthly fee will be taken from your account for the card.
