The passport can be applied for at the Exit & Entry Administration Ministry of Public Security, which is located at No. 1500, Minsheng Road, Pudong District. The service is available from Monday to Saturday and from 9:00am to 5:00pm.

Things needed to bring with you:

1.        Application forms for passport (Forms are available at the Exit & Entry Administration Ministry of Public Security, and you can also download it online.)

2.        ID card and copy

3.        Family’s household registration booklet and copy

4.        Three 2-inch photos (white background, without hat)

5.        200RMB application fee

Tips:

  • The passport can be accessible after 10 workdays. You may either get the passport in person at Exit & Entry Administration Ministry of Public Security, or require a mail service which acquires an extra fee.
  • Passport application is also available at District's Public Security Bureau (Shanghai citizen only).
  • Photo-taking service is provided, but the fee is a little bit high.
